GRIT: Getzville Rapid Intervention Training
Getzville opens their doors to any firefighter interested in a two-day Rapid Intervention Training program that includes hands-on skill sessions, live fire, realistic scenario based training evolutions and an incident command system training. This program has proven over the years that it is as real as it gets. A rapid intervention team is a dedicated crew of firefighters that is assigned for rapid deployment to rescue lost or trapped firefighters. The training consists of numerous training evolutions such as: Basement rescues, below grade rescues, collyers mansion, emergency air procedures, enlarged openings, fire development, forcible entry, mask confidence, Pittsburgh drill, emergency lifting and a maze.
