Fire Prevention Week National Fire Prevention Week is general observed annually during the first week of October. President George Bush declared the importance of promoting fire safety and the educational efforts carried out this week and indeed throughout the year by signing a special proclamation issued from the White House. Schools, businesses, and community groups, join their local fire departments and many other first responders to take this special opportunity to stress the importance of something we should all think about each and every day of the year: fire safety. The proud members of the Getzville Fire Company invite you to participate in Fire Prevention Week activities wherever you are. If you are in our neighborhood, stop by our annual Open House or one of the many other public activities we participate during this important and opportune week.
