Fire and Steel

Our volunteers are the heart and the muscle of the operation, but it is the fire apparatus and other emergency vehicles that we drive that puts the iron and the steel behind all that muscle. It takes guts to fight a fire. Every firefighter will tell you that they want nothing more than to know that the pumper and other apparatus outside have the lines charged and ready for action when the time comes to go into that burning building. Having the pumps primed and the lines charged is the job of the driver or the pump operator on the apparatus. Confidence that everything is ready to go comes from having the right equipment, the best maintenance and the appropriate apparatus to do the job. The Getzville Fire Company is fortunate to have the apparatus and the right tools at our disposal to handle emergencies as they come.
