Active Fire Company The Active Fire Company is comprised of our membership who actively train, participate in work activities and respond to emergencies and other public activities of the volunteer Getzville Fire Company. Our membership is made up of men and women, friends, and neighbors, who live within the fire district as defined by by-laws of the non-profit Getzville Fire Company, Inc., the Town of Amherst, and the State of New York. The Getzville Fire Company contracts with the town of Amherst New York to provide fire protection, emergency medical and rescue services to Fire Protection District 11. Professionalism is key to our success. Volunteerism is our strength. The challenge of helping our neighbors, families, and our community in their time of need is it's own reward. Services provided to our community include fire protection, emergency medical services, rescue operations such as vehicle extrication, water and ice rescue, as well as fire police for traffic control as needed and hazardous material incident response. In addition, GFC provides mutual aid to any first responder agency in our area as requested. In addition to our role in local emergency response, we also offer fire prevention services and educational programs the community. |
